LOST, "Sundown" - The Big Bad Theory

"You think you know me, but you don't. I'm a good man." - Sayid

The question of 'good and evil' has always been prevalent in the narrative of LOST. But there has never been as easy answer. Characters we thought were altruistically good revealed shades of darkness as time progressed. Characters we believed, without a shadow of a doubt, were essentially evil have displayed moments of moral integrity.

LOST, "Lighthouse" - Mirror, Mirror

"I came back here because I was broken. And I was stupid enough to think this place could fix me" - Jack

I've been talking about mirrors a lot this season. And I imagine I will continue to do so as the season progresses. 'Lighthouse' was the most direct in it's use. The Lighthouse (where the title of the episode comes from) itself is home to a mirror which reflects a past to Jack that he has not yet gotten over and a destiny he is not fully ready to embrace.

LOST, "The Substitute" - The God Problem

"I'm on this island because my plane crashed. Because my raft blew up. Because the helicopter I was on was riding one too heavy." - Sawyer

For centuries philosophers and theologians have struggled with the concept of a universe in which both God and free will exists. If one is to believe that God is all knowing, omnipotent, the Alpha and the Omega then how could any of our choices be our own? Do we have any control of our destinies if God has already written how everything will play out?

LOST, "What Kate Does" - They Shot Mac!

"But I think some people are just meant to be alone." - Sawyer

Take a long sigh of relief LOST fans: this is probably the last Kate-centric episode we'll ever have to sit through.

LOST, "LA X": See You In Another Life, Brotha

"My condition is irreversible." -Locke
"Nothing is irreversible." -Jack

Ever since the Season Five finale, when Juliet detonated the Jughead bomb, we've all been waiting anxiously to find out whether or not Faraday's plan worked: would time be reset and would Oceanic 815 land safely at LAX... or would it be that 'whatever happened, happened,' and they somehow flash back to 2007.

'Guys, where are we?'

So after much prodding and insistence I decided to finally make a blog on which I can share my LOST thoughts and insights with the world outside my Facebook profile. Because it wasn't bad enough that my immediate friends new I was a huge LOST nerd, not complete strangers could find out. Awesome.

Here's how it's going to work. I'm going to re-upload all of my previous posts for the first 6 episodes of Season Six onto the blog. Following that, I will be posting my thoughts on last week's episode, 'Dr. Linus.'

'we have to go back.'
